Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Discovered this new spot thanks to Restaurant Month however, the staff member wasn't aware of my booking nor of the Restaurant Month promotion. I made my booking (for my birthday dinner) by calling the cell number and the person who answered wasn't the same the person working in the restaurant on the night of my booking so a possible comms breakdown. In the end I gave up on the Restaurant Month menu and my colleagues and I just ordered à la carte. It was a delicious meal. I felt quite sorry for the staff member as she basically had no help - she was taking orders, making the orders, cleaning tables, delivering the orders to those dining in and preparing orders for delivery as well. She did a great job but its quite a lot for one person so hopefully the situation is much better now and she has other staff members rostered on. I don't think this impacted the taste factor but I do believe that the portion we had wasn't sufficient for 4 adults. I was still hungry and was glad that I had birthday cupcakes for dessert when I got home. I did give her one of course. I would go back here because I do really like Ethiopian cuisine and this is the only spot in the CBD."
"Absolutely loved our experience with Addis restaurant. Food was flavourful and beautifully spiced! The injera was fresh and soft. For 2 people, we ordered 3 meals since we were incredibly hungry last night We had the Veggie combo, Keye Wot & Ye Bege Tibs...everything was so good! The lady at the reception/kitchen was very nice and welcoming, and gladly helped us in choosing what to get. Vibe was chill, basic and clean. Will definitely go back!"
"Delicious meals prepared fresh by the owner who is so very hospitable and sweet. She even offered to make baby food for our toddlers. Highly recommend this place."
"A wonderfully tasty experience. Friendly staff and the coffee was an experience in itself. Tasty food. Unique tastes. We left with a smile and a full tummy. (Sorry we already took a bite or two from out plates before I remembered to take the pics)"
"Absolutely lovely place to dine. The food is tasty. New flavours for me. Also appreciated the friendly kind staff who treated us a little bit like family. She just casually came over and popped a Few collard greens on our plate. It was so sweet. The incense is a very good touch. Highly recommend."
"This was my first time trying Ethiopian food and I really enjoyed it. The price was $25 for the plate of food in the picture, I dont begrudge it as it was a unique and pleasant experience dining there. Great flavour and a filling meal."
"so delicious!! a great choice for our sunday morning breakfast. we got the veg platter & doro wat, would definitely recommend!"
"A fantastic hidden gem, when we entered the venue, we instantly felt the authenticity of the restaurant and the menu it has to offer. The food was delicious and unique, coffee was lovely and not too strong, vegetarian friendly, well priced, we will definitely return to try other items on the menu."
